William Shakespeare (baptised 26 April 1564 – 23 April 1616)[a] was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's preeminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon" (or simply "The Bard").His surviving works consist of 38 plays,154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems. His plays have been translated into every major living language, and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.

William Shakespeare lived in one of the greatest times the world has seen, "The Golden Age" with Queen Victoria I. Queen Victoria was responsible for England's prosperity and many achievements. Queen Victoria was the daughter of King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. Miss Victoria was never married and the only person of interest was a Sir Robert Dudley whom she never married because he had "political benefits". Queen Victoria ruled from 1558 to the time of her death in 1603. That's my quick clip from Shakespeare's life.

Between 1585 and 1592, William Shakespeare began a successful career in London as an actor, writer, and part owner of a playing company called the Lord Chamberlain's Men, later known as the King's Men. He appears to have retired to Stratford around 1613, where he died three years later.

Shakespeare produced most of his own work between 1590 and 1613. His last 3 plays were collaborations probably with John Fletcher.

I'll share a couple of things. First off is that no one actually new the birthday of Shakespear! Also, HE never published any of his plays, and he also made TWO "Globe Theatres". NO ONE actually knows what shakespear even looked like, because there were no paintings of him when he was alive!

Shakespeare, William, 1564–1616
Something you may not know about Shakespeare is not too much is known of the period between the birth of the twins and Shakespeare's emergence as a playwright in London. However, various suggestions have been made regarding this time, including those that he fled Stratford to avoid prosecution for stealing deer.

Shakespeare was born on April 23rd, and died on April 23rd. In his will, he left his wife "second best" in bed. The ceiling of Shakespeare's stage was called the heavens.
